While reading the latest issue of Details magazine, which is likely aimed at a demographic 7-10 years younger than me, I ran across a quick blurb for a new web site called I Hate Young People. This You Tube for the angry elder has a combination of man on the street interviews
and submitted videos. The site in its current incarnation appears to be only a couple of months old and the about us says:
We want you to create a video of yourself explaining what you hate the most about young people. It’s your chance to rant and rave and vent about the younger generation.
The most passionate and creative entries will be a part of a national cable televsion pilot… and all “appropriate” submissions will be posted on the
I Hate Young People video sharing siteSo fire up your webcam and tell us what bugs you the most about young people!
Note that I left the misspelled word ‘televsion’ intact. I wonder how old the webmaster/mastermind is behind this work? I’m hoping that he/she is more successful in developing a television pilot than spelling one!
The videos seem to be 1-3 minutes in length and the ones I previewed are shot in NYC which adds an additional dimension of color to the videos.
Britney, Paris, and Lindsey get their fair share of slams as do young people’s pants, butt cracks, tattoos, language, and social graces.

Wow… I have SO many comments I could make to this, but the one that stands out in my mind is, how pathetic do you have to be to make a website devoted to how much you “hate” someone else? What if this was “I hate RaceOfChoiceHere” ? It’s the same thing in my book.
Yuck.

It seems the owner of the site has gotten so many both angry and level headed responses against his website he had to shut down the comments to make it more “secure”. I really disagree with this website and I think I may make it very hard him to keep it up. (i.e. a massive ping from my linux/quadcore zeon computer with 75 Mbps fiber optic internet. I think maybe 2,00,000 packets at once will do the trick
can you say fried network card?) I know its mean and totally reinforces what he is about but at least the likes of that ageist site will disappear till he gets a new network card, then once its back up ping ping ping for me.

For the love of God grow a sense of humor. Stumbled on this site weeks ago and it’s hilarious. The old people and the young people on it are dopes and they’re also very funny. I suspect that’s the point.

I was trying very hard to pay attention to what she was saying but all I could focus on were her 3 teeth and how the bottom tooth fit nicely between the two goalposts on the top row.

Been looking at the site all morning. I think it’s hilarious. Saw something on it on Fox news a couple of days ago. It’s getting like a zillion hits a day.

Vice Magazine also did something on this site a couple of months ago. My only problem with it is that there isn’t more content. Some of the clips are brilliant.
Just checked out the homepage. Looks like the missing letter in “television” has been inserted. But exellent work… uh… spell checking.
You should be proud of the fact that the spelling on your modest, little blog is so much better than the spelling on a wildly creative and successful site.
Now if you could just start diagramming sentences from random sites I think this blog would really take off.
